#GIRLBOSS

A couple weeks ago I sat down at Starbucks, like I always do and spent an agonizing amount of time trying to write something. Eventually I gave up & did what I always do when I get frustrated, I go to Chapters. After browsing the shelves for what felt like hours I eventually settled on buying four books, one of which was #GIRLBOSS. I bought #GIRLBOSS on a whim & it was exactly what I needed to read. I picked the book up because it was about the founder & CEO of Nasty Gal, a online store I had admired from a distance for sometime.
Reading #GIRLBOSS gave the the kick in the butt I needed to realize what I was trying to do wasn't working, & that it was time to try something else. When it comes to this blog my strengths are on my photography & my art, & my weaknesses are my writing. Growing up I wanted to be a writer just like John-Boy Walton, but when the words didn't flow out of me easily I eventually gave up. Well no, a bunch of other mishaps happened before I eventually gave up and decided to concentrate on design instead. The point is, I'm never going to be the next New Work Times best selling author. I can dream, but it's not going to happen. But I can practice, and play of my strengths until my weakness is no longer a weakness. Practice makes perfect right?

Sidenote; Did you know how difficult it is to find videos of John-boy? Because it is, and I really wanted to link the episode where he decided to start his own newspaper.

With love;
Shelby.
