// Where the heck I've been!

selfies
Bathroom selfie at the Edmonton Country Club (for a xmas party) & showing off my newest hair colour.

I've been battling a pretty terrible head cold for the last week and a half, meaning I have been confined to bed and Netflix. Today's been the first day where I haven't wanted to rip my sinus system out of my skull. So I'd thought it would be as good as anytime to finally update everyone on where the heck I've been. As I mentioned I didn't mean to take such a long hiatus. But sometimes you just need a break.

Girl Power! Some recent comic books and one of my new sweaters.

I've been watching a lot of Netflix. I needed to tune out and ignore life for a while so I took it as an opportunity to catch up on my to watch list on Netflix. I found a great free chrome extension proxy for watching Netflix. So I've been taking full advantage of having excess for both British and German Netlfix.

I quit my job! About mid November I made the decision to leave my current job. I gave a pretty long notice of a month an a half, meaning January 4th will be my last day.

making faces
Making faces in the beer garden at Shaw with Braydon and Kelli.

On December 4th Braydon and I made our way to the Shaw Conference Centre in downtown Edmonton to watch U.S.S. and Mother Mother in concert. At the concert we met up with a bunch of my current co-workers (who waiting in line for four hours to get front row!) and my sister and brother-in-law.

I finally fixed the death trap that was my car. So last spring I hit a pot hole while in Calgary, and I hit the pot hole hard. Hard enough to break a ball joint on my front drivers side. And I've been driving on it since. The mechanic who fixed it for me said I'm lucky the wheel didn't fall off while I was driving. At the same time I got a whole bunch of small issues fixed and it only cost me a whooping $100. The perks of having a sister that works at a dealership.

Snapchats of my art progress.

I've been putting a lot of time into creating new art. I've been teaching myself how to paint in Photoshop. I'm staring off easy with re-doing a Jude Law portrait I did about three years ago.

Baileys Hot Chocolate and my new Dragons phone case gifted from one of my co-workers.

I've been addicted to playing Card Wars and Dragons: Rise of Berk on my phone. Card Wars in a well card game based off of an episode of Adventure Time which is ridiculously addicting and Dragons is well Dragons. Anything that has to do with Hiccup and Toothless I am all over. I also have School of Dragons which is loosely based around the Dragons TV series, but it doesn't load very well and I don't play it as much.

With love;
Shelby
