On blogging and Life

I know I've been absent over the last few months. I promised I wouldn't stop posting, which is kind of true. I did keep doing my Sunday posts. But between the transition into my job, dealing with my credit card debt and the prospects of moving this blog went to the back burner as it's not a priority.

I felt guilty not posting, but even in my absence I never stopped working. I continued to photograph and write blog posts. And most importantly, I took time to unwind and actually think about my future and this blog's part in it. Of course most of time was taken between watching Netflix and baking all the dessert.

I took the time to actually think about what I love about blogging. I thought about all the blogs I follow and why I love them. I thought about what they all had in common, and what sets them all apart. Each of these blogs has amazing visual. Perfect photos, and a clean, well functioning layout. But beyond that, each blog caught the bloggers own personality. Each post feels like catching a coffee with a long time friend.

It's that essence that I want to catch in my own blog. I want my own posts to be like chatting to your best friend. To be a highlight in your newsfeed, and to make you laugh and smile. I know I'm a long ass way away from that. I don't want to stop blogging, that's for sure. But I'm not about to jump into being a daily blogger. So this blog will continue to stay on the back burner for a while, but with a slow burn.

I'm going to continue to post things that make me happy. Things that make me laugh, and cry. Talk about things that matter to me. If you like it, that's great. And if you don't, well that's good too. We don't have to agree on everything. I'm going to aim towards posting three times a week. Two weekday posts and my usual sunday post. Keeping it nice and simple. I hope you'll continue to stick with me for a while longer.
